The challenge
Queer Compass needed to work as a single directory resource for the LGBTQ+ community, bringing together useful services, organisations and points of support in one place. The challenge was to shape that information into a web application that felt clear and approachable while still supporting a growing set of listings and content sections.
The solution
We built and deployed Queer Compass as a directory web application using multi-element core programming skills across structure, layout, navigation and front-end implementation. The platform was designed to make resource discovery simple, with a focused information architecture that helps users move through listings and supporting content without friction.
The result
The finished project provides a more centralised and usable digital resource for the LGBTQ+ community. Instead of scattered information across different sources, Queer Compass offers one dedicated directory experience that is easier to browse, easier to maintain and better suited to future expansion. It will soon be rolling out to all areas of the UK.
